• Here are examples of how divers have used Alltab over the years:

Search and Rescue

Alltab will allow rescue divers to navigate to objects even in very low visibility.

Education

Alltabs are used in Scientific Diver Training to collect data and navigate. The instructors can also carry training materials and take notes with the underwater tablet.

Archaeology

Alltabs are used by archaeologists around the world to navigate their research sites and to log data. In combination with the UNS, the divers can see their position on a map of the survey area. With the UWIS system, they can also track other divers, send messages and enhance 3D modelling of large objects by adding positioning data to photographs taken for photogrammetry.

Human Behavior

Using a tablet instead of paper and pencil to collect data on neurocognitive performance can save time and make the test environment more neutral.

Coral Health

Alltab is used to control CISME, Community In Situ Metabolism (pronounced ‘kiss-me’ to reflect the gentle interaction between the instrument and the coral/substrate). It is a diver-portable respirometer developed to make non-destructive and non-invasive measurements of coral metabolic rates in situ under ambient conditions. CISME is manufactured and sold by Qubit Systems Inc., Canada.

Freshwater Mussel Ecology

Divers using Alltab and UNS follow the development of a freshwater mussel population in an artificial lake in Southern Finland. They logged data from temperature loggers through Bluetooth(R) and georeferenced visual data to the Navigator software.
